Van Henley graduated from Auburn in 1980 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. He retired from Ernst & Young LLP in 2017 as a tax partner after serving clients in Growth Markets for 37 years. He also served the firm as Dallas office Tax Location Leader and Southwest Area Growth Markets Tax Leader. Henley serves on several tax-exempt boards, including senior living and higher education organizations. He is a life member of the Auburn Alumni Association and the Cater Circle of the Foy Society, with over 39 continuous years of giving. A member of the 1856 Society and the Circle of Excellence Society, Henley has been a member of the Harbert College of Business Shareholders Club since its inception. Henley has also served on the School of Accountancy Advisory Council for over 20 years (two years as chairman) and the Dallas – Ft. Worth “It Begins with Auburn” campaign committee. Henley and his wife, Suzanne, have three sons, Austin, Tyler and Carson, as well as nine grandchildren.
