Goizueta earned a bachelor’s degree in public relations and speech from Auburn University in 1981. He is a retired vice president of The Coca-Cola Company and retired president of the global McDonald's division. He led a worldwide organization responsible for building the strategic alliance with McDonald's in more than 33,000 restaurants and more than 119 countries.

Goizueta currently resides in Atlanta. He is a life member of the Auburn Alumni Association and a member of Auburn’s 1856 Society, Foy Society (5 Years), and the Liberal Art’s Dean’s Club.
