Broadway earned his undergraduate degree in accounting in 1991 and an MBA in 1993 from Auburn University's Harbert College of Business. He began his career in commercial banking with Barnett Bank, later joining Compass Bank's Commercial Loan Officer Training Program in Birmingham and advancing to senior vice president of Commercial Real Estate at The Bank in Huntsville by 2004. In 2001, he founded The Broadway Group, a retail development firm that has completed more than 1,350 projects nationwide for clients such as Dollar General, McDonald’s, Wawa and AT&T. He also owns Broadway Construction Company, a general contracting firm licensed in 11 states, and Broadway Capital Investments, which holds a diverse portfolio of commercial properties across multiple states with major tenants including Regions Bank and the TVA.
Broadway also serves on the Harbert College of Business and College of Human Sciences dean’s advisory boards. He is a member of the Pat Dye Society along with the 1856 and Foy societies.
