Content requirements for projects:
- A still photo representing your project
- Description text
- A short video
- Project owner bios and photos
- Optional. Thank-you video to be displayed on gift confirmation page. Less than 30 seconds.
Project photos
Project photos are small, horizontal images. Since they will be displayed in a grid with photos from other projects, photos should be simple compositions that communicate the project’s topic. We will crop/size images to fit. Please do not place any text or other graphics on the photo.

Space might be available for additional photos on your project page, depending on text length. Please send additional images (minimum width 580) if you have any.
Description text
Project description text can be of any length, but brevity is best (less than 400 words). Describe the project and why funds are needed. Explain how your project’s goal aligns with cost.
Include an explanation of what your project will do with funds that exceed your goal.
We will be editing text and project titles for consistency and space across the site, so content is subject to change.
Videos
The project video is your primary appeal to donors and the highest profile piece of your project’s content. Make a strong case for your project’s need, and remember to end with an ask.
Videos should be personable (talk to the camera), brief, and (if appropriate) fun. Start with an introduction, ideally from the student or faculty member serving as your project owner. Videos shorter than two minutes work best, but there is no limit. End the video with a TigerGiving.org frame so visitors can find the site if they’re viewing the video independently.
A grassroots production often attracts more attention. Filming with an iPhone or iPad is fine if the audio is clear. If you film with an iPhone or iPad, be sure to hold the device in a horizontal, “landscape” orientation.
Upload your finished video to YouTube or Vimeo as “unlisted.”
Project owner bio and photo
Bios of people closely associated with your project lend credibility to your campaign and give the project a human face. An example of a project owner would be a faculty member or student who will benefit. Project owner bios can be especially compelling to donors if the person is also featured in the video.
Bios should be brief (200 words or less). Project owner photos should be headshots. We will crop and size images.
