Board & Officers

The Auburn University Foundation’s Board of Directors is responsible for the management of all the affairs, property and business of the Foundation. The board consists of up to 24 voting directors. Directors are elected for a four-year term and may serve two terms. In addition, the chancellor of Auburn University Montgomery, the president of the Auburn Alumni Association, and the president of Auburn University are non-voting ex-officio members of the board.

The mission of the Auburn University Foundation is to generate increased philanthropic support for Auburn University. The foundation receives gifts made in support of the university; manages the investments of the university’s endowments; and ensures that gift funds are kept separate from state funds and are used consistent with donor intent. The foundation strives to promote, nurture, and expand the culture of support for Auburn University.

New directors, officers appointed to Auburn University Foundation Board

The Auburn University Foundation, which receives and manages all charitable contributions made in support of Auburn University and Auburn University Montgomery, has appointed three new directors to its board: Dan Arnold ’88 of La Jolla, California; Beau Byrd ’89 and Dan Davidson ’87, both of Birmingham.

“Our directors bring significant experience, insights and a high level of commitment to serve Auburn University and the Auburn University Foundation,” said Rob Wellbaum, senior vice president for advancement and president of the foundation. “We are grateful for their willingness to join our efforts to strengthen philanthropic support and to advance Auburn’s mission of teaching, research and outreach.”

Arnold is a graduate of the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering and received a master’s in business administration from Georgia State University in 1991. Arnold is the President and CEO of LPL Financial.

Byrd holds a bachelor’s degree from Auburn in accountancy and received his Juris Doctorate from Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law in 1992. He is Partner with Bradley Arant in Birmingham.

Davidson received a bachelor’s degree in accountancy from Auburn in 1987 and completed a master’s in business administration from the University of Alabama in 1989, He is a retired Vice President and Chief Investment Strategist for the former BBVA Compass Bank.
